About Official Site

We have created the official website for TITANCLIMB.

The primary purpose of this website is to share our DEVLOGs. Some might suggest that platforms like Note or Medium would suffice, and it is indeed uncommon for an indie game to build a fully customized official website.

However, because world-building is the core appeal of this game, I wanted every devlog to reflect the atmosphere of TITANCLIMB. Creating a dedicated website was the most reliable way to achieve this vision.

On this site, as TITANCLIMB’s designs and lore are finalized, the “WORLD” section will progressively feature new background information, allowing you to observe the creation process via the DEVLOG.

We plan to update the DEVLOG approximately once a week. Please stay tuned!

On August 8th, we showcased the game at the indie game event “Tokyo Game Dungeon 13”. We made various updates in time for this showcase, and I’d like to introduce them to you today. You can see these new updates in action by watching the video at the top of this post.

The Titan Finally Has a Name: “Ode”

Ode

We’ve finally decided on a name for the titan, something we had been struggling with for a long time. Its name is “Ode”. I have some ideas about the origin and lore behind the name, which I’d like to share once we figure out exactly how it will tie into the story.

Addition of Cutscenes

Cutscene

We’ve added a cutscene feature and used it for sequences like the opening. The cutscenes transition seamlessly into gameplay, which greatly enhances immersion in the story.

Introduction of the NPC “Kirk”

Kirk

At the beginning, a character named Kirk appears to explain the situation in Aude and the goal of the adventure (or, in this case, the purpose of the demo). In this way, the game plans to portray a wide range of NPCs—such as people living on the Giant and those who offer help—along with their individual personal stories.

New Creatures: “Grilim” and “Mootra”

We’ve added creatures that inhabit the Titan’s body. The four-legged creatures wandering around the Titan’s surface are called “Grilim”. They have a docile nature, but we are designing them to fight back if you enter their territory or attack them. Also, though they might be a bit less noticeable, giant fish-like creatures called “Mootra” are flying around the Titan.

Interactions with these creatures haven’t been implemented yet, but this is our first step in building a living ecosystem on the Titan.
